Last night, the Bulldogs won the sectional championship in an exciting 1-0 victory over the Plainfield Quakers. Offensively, Brownsburg struggled to put hits together to score a run. But in the bottom of the 4th inning Mackenzie Bedrick battled her way on to first base with a walk and was able to score from second base when Marah Wood hit a hard grounder in the gap. This was the only run the Bulldogs would score for the evening, but it was just enough to put them on top.
Maddy Edwards started the Bulldogs off in the circle, tossing 5 of the 7 innings for Brownsburg. She struck out 7 of the Quakers and only gave up 4 hits. Kelsey Endress, came in to close out the game striking out 3 from the Plainfield lineup and gave up 0 hits. The Bulldogs will play in the Regional on Tuesday night. Go Bulldogs!
