The Brownsburg varsity football team will travel to Zionsville for the 2019 IHSAA Sectional 5 Championship game on November 8th. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Ascension St. Vincent Health Stadium.

Brownsburg comes into the matchup with a 7-3 record.

     Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg is coming off a 27-24 win over No. 1 ranked and previously undefeated Avon last week in the Semi-final round of IHSAA Sectional 5
  • Brownsburg is looking to win their first IHSAA Football Sectional championship since 2009
  • This year marks the third straight season Brownsburg has advanced to the Sectional championship game
  • The Bulldogs are rated as the No. 2 team in the state of Indiana by John Harrell's Indiana High School Football ratings
  • Brownsburg had fewer total plays, first downs, time of possession and total yards than Avon last week but still came away with a big win
  • QB Ben Easters threw three touchdowns in the Bulldogs' win over Avon; it marked the fifth time Easters has thrown at least three touchdowns in a single game this season
  • DE Isaiah Street's 8 total tackles last week against Avon surpassed his 2019 season high for a single game

     About the Eagles

Zionsville comes into the matchup off of a dominating 36-0 win over Pike last week. Zionsville is 4-6 after the big win over the Red Devils.

Zionsville boasts the leading rusher in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference.

Colin Price has totaled 1583 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns this season. Price, who had 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns last week, has surpassed the 100-yard mark in all but two of Zionsville's games this year.

Cole Wiseman ranks among the top-five HCC QBs in passing yards. He has thrown for 1394 yards and 9 touchdowns.

The Eagles' defense has allowed the second-most points of any HCC team this year.

     Series History

Over the last 35 years, Zionsville leads the series with Brownsburg by a 12-9 margin. However, Brownsburg has won the last five meetings in the series.

This year marks the third time since 2000 that the two schools have met in the postseason.

Brownsburg and Zionsville split matchups in the IHSAA Football State tournament during the 2009 and 2012 seasons.

Brownsburg dominated this year's regular season meeting between the two schools by a score of 54-14. Ben Easters threw for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns in that matchup while Donny Marcus notched 229 yards and 2 touchdowns.
